The Shocking Truth About Oxidation

SUN offers two versions of the most popular, versatile and effective product for oxidizing (burning up) organic contaminants through regular shock treatment - SUN-BRITE (for pools) and SUN-BRITE S.F. (for spas). Both products contain the powerful non-chlorine oxidizing compound potassium monopersulfate, which has many benefits over shocking with a chlorine-based sanitizer. One of the major advantages is time - swimming or soaking can be resumed after a short waiting period to allow adequate dispersion of the free flowing granular powder throughout the water. SUN-BRITE works by actually enhancing sanitizer efficiency while producing clear and sparkling water. It is completely soluable, dissolves quickly and is gentle on all surfaces. It is easy and convenient to use and can be broadcast directly over the water surface while the pump is running. In addition, SUN-BRITE will not raise calcium hardness or increase cyanuric acid stabilizer levels and works well with chlorine, bromine and most alternative sanitizers. The SUN-BRITE pool formula is acid and will tend to lower pH and total alkalinity with regular use. This is a benefit to those in hard water areas or those who regularly use calcium hypochlorite or bleach.
